Bio

Kathryn Kilian, violinist, believes strongly in music’s ability to help people better understand themselves, one another and the world. She has brought her enthusiasm to music festivals such as Bang on a Can, Tanglewood Music Center, and Yellow Barn’s Young Artists’ Program; she was also chosen to be a representative of the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University on multiple occasions, performing at the Shanghai Conservatory, the Kennedy Center Honors, and the Washington Performing Arts Society. In May of 2011, Ms. Kilian completed her Master’s Degree in Violin Performance at Peabody, where she studied with Violaine Melançon. Her interests outside of performing include music therapy, cooking, and spending time with friends.
